Frequently Asked Questions
Our calculator compares your selected date of birth with the current date and time to calculate your exact age. Instead of simply subtracting your birth year, it calculates the precise difference in years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds while accounting for leap years and varying month lengths.
We first calculate the exact number of days between your birth date and the current date. From this value we derive weeks, months, hours, minutes, and seconds using standard time conversions while accounting for leap years.
Each planet takes a different amount of time to complete one orbit around the Sun. We divide your Earth age by the orbital period of each planet to estimate your age there.
| Planet | One Year Equals |
|---|---|
| Mercury | 88 Earth Days |
| Venus | 225 Earth Days |
| Mars | 687 Earth Days |
| Jupiter | 11.86 Earth Years |
| Saturn | 29.46 Earth Years |
Mercury completes one orbit around the Sun in just 88 Earth days. Because its year is much shorter than Earth's, you experience many more Mercury years during your lifetime. For example, someone who is 24 years old on Earth is approximately 100 Mercury years old.
The Moon does not orbit the Sun independently—it orbits Earth every 27.3 days. Since it doesn't have its own solar year like planets do, age on the Moon isn't calculated.
Heartbeats are estimated using an average resting heart rate of approximately 70 beats per minute. We multiply the total minutes you've lived by this value. Since heart rate varies by age, health, and activity level, this is an educational estimate rather than a medical measurement.
We estimate breathing using an average rate of 16 breaths per minute. Multiplying this by the total number of minutes you've lived provides an approximate lifetime breath count.
Sleep time is estimated assuming an average of eight hours of sleep per day. Since eight hours is about one-third of a day, we estimate that roughly one-third of your lifetime has been spent sleeping.
Your generation is determined based on your birth year. Depending on when you were born, you may belong to Generation Alpha, Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X, Baby Boomers, or an earlier generation.
